ICEC (International Civil Engineering Competition) is an international competition for civil engineering students held under the auspices of the International Association of Civil Engineering Students (IACES).

Each local committee of IACES organizes a local stage of the competition at its home faculty, the winners of which advance to the finals. This year, the final stage of the competition is scheduled to take place in Porto, Portugal in mid-July 2023.

The local phase of the competition for students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Belgrade will be held on April 9, 2023. The winning team wins a prize in the amount of €300 and gets the opportunity to compete with colleagues from abroad in the final stage of the competition!

Teams of three students will test their knowledge in solving challenges in the fields of structures, materials and hydraulic engineering. The challenges will be designed, presented and evaluated by professors and assistants of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade. The challenge will be a practical task that would involve the use of design software, making or assembling a model from given materials with theoretical calculation (if necessary), which would then be subjected to measurement and evaluated numerically. Competitors will be undergraduate and/or master students who do not have to be members of IACES. Communication between competitors, assistants and professors will take place in English.

With this project, LK Belgrade aims to motivate its fellow students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade to use the knowledge acquired at the faculty in a creative way and try their hand at professional challenges in an unconventional way.
