Department of materials and structures consists of following group, of courses, which are studied at first-degree academic studies:
• Concrete structures
• Metal structures
• Timber structures
• Technology of concrete
• Testing the structures
• Building materials
Also, the Department covers the set of courses at PhD studies.
The Department consist of 28 members of the teaching stuff that are in constant assembly, among whom: 7 full professors, 3 associate professors, 9 assistant professors and 9 assistants.
Scientific disciplines in the field of materials and structures are dating from the time when Faculty of Engineering of High School was founded and the courses from these disciplines were taught under the titles and with the contents that have responded through time to the development of science and the needs of practice. The Department under the present name is founded in 1956, and it was guided by eminent teachers. The members of Department, besides teaching, participated and are participating in a realization of great number of scientific and research projects, studies as well as professional activities in our country and abroad.
More information on current research activities can be found on these links: concrete structures, metal structures, timber structures, building materials.
At the Department of materials and structures, a great number of master thesis and doctoral dissertations was defended.
Considering the educational and scientific orientation of the Department of materials and structures, as well as the specifics of action of organizational unit of Faculty called Institute of Materials and Structures, the following laboratories, actively used in teaching, are provided:
