World Water Day is traditionally celebrated on March 22 all over the world.
The United Nations launched this initiative to draw public attention to the extreme importance of water and water resources. This year's theme of the Water Day is "Accelerating Change", which points to the pressing problems in the field of water and the difficulties in meeting the 6th Sustainable Development Goal (Sustainable Development Goal, SDG 6): water and sanitation for all by 2030.

On the occasion of World Water Day, the Institute of Hydrotechnics and Water Environmental Engineering will host Prof. Enike Tamas from Hungary, from the Faculty of Water Science, University of Public Service Ludovika.
