Introducing students to quantitative probabilistic assessment of problems in civil engineering applications.

The students are capable of independent use of risk models in research and practice.

Contents

Basic probability concepts. Random variables and their properties. Probability distributions. Methods of estimation and testing. Correlation and regression analysis. Frequency analysis of extreme events. Risk and reliability analysis.
